Learn More about Our Gardens
The award-winning Victorian Gardens at The Bishop are quietly and serenely tucked away in the back of the hotel, offering a peaceful guest experience. An arbor and winding path guide you to the gazebo with lush and colorful gardens on either side. The benches and Adirondack chairs throughout provide a quiet place to pause and reflect. It’s the ideal location to sip a glass of champagne at dusk or enjoy the briskness of a sunny morning with that first cup of coffee…Enjoy roses, shrubs, vines, perennials, annuals and tender plants from Spring through Fall. A natural bluff encloses the garden, making it a lovely location from which to glimpse local hummingbirds, butterflies and even the occasional spring fawn.
A winding path alongside perennial gardens leads you to the gazebo where you may encounter birdsong and the distant sound of the ferry to Whidbey Island.
Ease your cares away in an Adirondack chair and an hour or so to relax in our Victorian Garden. What a lovely way to enjoy your morning cup of coffee.
From early Spring to late Fall our garden is abloom, thanks to our Master Gardener and her staff! The heirloom plants are each carefully selected for optimum growth in the Pacific Northwest. We will soon have a list of the plants and flowers posted here.
A popular place for hummingbirds and other local flora and fauna, the Victorian Gardens are a lovely place to spend an hour or so with a favorite book; or perhaps the perfect finish to a romantic evening in the gazebo with a bottle of wine.
