Fall head over heels in love with Port Townsend
From fall bounty at the farmer's market to leisurely strolls along the beach in the brisk fall air, Port Townsend is the place to be in Autumn!
Early fall brings a sense of change to the garden. Fall berries ripen and drop to the ground. The days are warm and the nights are cool.
The local farms are starting to sell their fall harvests at market. The air is as crisp and sweet as one of the apples in the orchard Washington is known for.
The garden is experiencing a burst of rusty-hued color. Guests wrap their coats around themselves a bit tighter in the crisp air.
Awash with multi-coloured shades, the tree leaves turn into the most beautiful offerings of red, yellow and everything in between.
Ahhh...You can smell the wet leaves and damp ground. It can be a bit misty in the fall, but that is part of the charm of Port Townsend. Borrow an umbrella from the lobby and head out.
The trees rain down red, yellow and orange leaves, making carpet crunching under feet.
There is an earthy scent in the air as fireplaces once again provide a source of heat for homes about town.
It's a boooootiful time of year!
It’s happening again, people! The parade of pumpkin pies and spiced lattes has begun, proclaiming loudly that fall is here.
...and Halloween is right around the corner. The Bishop Lobby is festive with pumpkins and other decor to celebrate the season.
The Port Townsend Main Street Program sponsors its annual Downtown Halloween Parade each October 31st. Join the denizens of costumed revelers of all ages at this popular event and eat some candy, too!
