Lucie Duclos - Painter, Visionary and Teacher
The Bishop Gallery is excited to welcome local PT resident Lucie Duclos as our February Artist of the Month! Lucie will be displaying her colorful acrylic paintings to brighten the walls of our hotel.
You lovely people are invited to join Lucie at the Bishop Victorian for this month’s Artwalk on Saturday, February 4th from 5:30 to 8pm (714 Washington Street.)
An artist of many talents, Lucie also designs fabrics, wallpapers, cell phone covers, the oh-so-trendy adult coloring books and branding/packaging design for companies both large and small.
Lucie Duclos is a surface pattern designer and a mixed media artist. She works with any medium from beeswax to collage, and watercolor to acrylic, but her husband thinks it's really just an excuse to buy more art supplies.
Her inspiration comes from organic shapes and textures found in nature, from her travels, and by looking at everyday objects in a different way.
You can check out her work at: duclosdesign
Lucy grew up speaking French in Montreal, Canada then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked as a graphic designer and illustrator in packaging design and for fashion and home décor magazines. She moved to Port Townsend 4 years ago and loves living in the Pacific Northwest, taking ferries and being surrounded by islands, water and snow-capped mountains.
Lucie is also the author of The West Coast Coloring book and co-author of The Pacific Northwest Coloring Book. She currently is part of the faculty of the Port Towsned School of the Arts.
